On the weekend of March 4 and March 5, 2023, 29 teams representing 24 colleges and universities from the United States and Canada competed against each other to determine who had the best team of undergraduate quiz bowl players.
The University of Chicago’s A team of Amogh Kulkarni, Ned Tagtmeier, Vivek Sasse, and Henry Cafaro went undefeated to win the tournament. The University of Illinois of Urbana-Champaign’s A team of Mitch McCullar, Justin Wytmar, Max Brodsky, and Yash Mandavia finished second, defeating Cornell University’s A team of Raymond Wang, Geoffrey Chen, Nathan Zhang, and Mitchell Indek in a tiebreaking game. Cornell finished third.
Fourth place Georgia Tech (Arya Karthik, Tegan Kapadia, S.A. Shenoy, and Quentin Mot), fifth place Harvard University (Arjun Nageswaran, Mazin Omer, and Jeffrey Fung), and sixth place the University of Texas (Karan Gurazada, Chinmay Murthy, Jisoo Yoo, and Raul Passement) rounded out the top six.
